Gengigel - Product Information
Effective for treating gum disease and mouth ulcers. ® is the first product of its kind in the UK to contain hyaluronan - a natural substance found in the body’s own connective tissue. Hyaluranon is naturally active in tissue regeneration as it influences the migration of connective tissue cells, therefore aiding tissue healing.
Research has proven that ® can double the rate of natural healing of damaged tissue in the mouth, increase the blood supply to the gums and reduce inflammation. ® also improves the results of periodontic treatment and one can be used to compliment the other.

So who particularly can benefit from ®?

Women in general – About 70 percent of women 35 and older have some degree of gum disease. Women are more at risk of developing further advanced stages of gum disease because of the many hormonal changes they experience such as puberty, the menopause, as well as taking oral contraceptives and having monthly periods. ® restores and maintains healthy gums.

Pregnant women – Bleeding, sensitive gums are a common complaint during pregnancy. Higher progesterone levels cause your gums to react more to the bacteria in plaque. That, along with an increased blood supply to your mouth, can result in swollen, tender gums that bleed when you floss or brush. This is called "pregnancy gingivitis" and it affects about half of all pregnant women. ® is safe to use during pregnancy and helps reduce inflammation.

Teenage girls – During puberty, an increased level of sex hormones causes increased blood circulation to the gums. This may cause an increase in the gum's sensitivity and lead to a greater reaction to any irritation, including food particles and plaque. During this time, the gums may become swollen, turn red and feel tender. ® helps soothe inflamed and damaged tissue.

Women going through the menopause – The menopause is a time of great hormonal change and women may experience changes such as inflamed gums or gums which bleed more readily at this time. In fact, a study reported that 44% of women aged 55 to 90 have periodontitis, an advanced form of gum disease. ® can both help restore your gum tissue and help maintain healthy gums.

Smokers – Smoking may be responsible for more than 50% of all cases of gum disease. Researchers say that tobacco suppresses the body’s immune system, reducing its ability to fight infection and therefore allowing the bacteria to spread. ® not only increases the blood supply to the gums but can promote the healing in previously damaged gum tissue.

People with diabetes – Research suggests that people with diabetes are more likely to have periodontal disease than people without diabetes, probably because people with diabetes are more susceptible to infections. ® has been shown to double the rate of natural healing of damaged tissue in the mouth, increase the blood supply to the gums and reduce inflammation.

People who suffer from mouth ulcers – Although no-one really knows what causes mouth ulcers, more often than not they are brought on by stress. ® can be very helpful in managing mouth ulcers. Unlike analgesics which only work to soothe the pain of mouth ulcers, ® actually rejuvenates and repairs mouth tissue soothing the pain and reducing the time it takes to heal.

People with lichen planus – Lichen planus of the mouth most commonly affects the inside of the cheeks, gums and tongue and typically appears as patches of fine white lines and dots. More severe forms of oral lichen planus however, can cause painful sores and ulcers in the mouth. ® can boost oral damaged tissue healing by up to a half, increase blood supply and reduce inflammation.

Healing ® is available in either 20ml gel (rsp. £6.49) or 150ml mouth rinse (rsp. £7.99) and can be purchased from dental practices as well as Boots, Lloydspharmacy, Tesco, Waitrose and Superdrug stores nationwide or from Oraldent directly via or Tel: 01480 862080
